What is the economic contribution of the food and drink sector to the economy?
A
FDII estimate that economic activity linked to the sector is equivalent to 35 – 40% of value added in Irish Manufacturing. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food estimate that the bio-sector, which encompasses agriculture and food as well as fisheries and forestry, now accounts for one-third of the total net foreign earnings from merchandise exports.
